The 2nd and 3rd components of our Remote Data Center Testing is progressing, with over one-third of our clearing and clearing related firms having successfully confirmed connectivity to the RDC.  Testing began June 16th and will continue through July 26th.     We expect all clearing member firms to complete this portion of the testing, so that they are prepared for the two, Saturday clearing cycle tests on August 2nd and August 9th.

 

We must stay on schedule, so that firm resources are prepared to go forward to Common Clearing Link Testing that will begin in early September.

 

Complete Telnet and FTP Test by July 18th

 

Please complete your independent �ping test� and confirm TN3270 telnet and FTP access no later than July 18th.  Firms can execute this portion of the test on their own, without scheduling time with CME staff.  When your firm has successfully completed this stage of the test, contact Client Management-Operations ( see contacts below) to schedule the next component-MQM and VPS testing.

 

MQM ping and VPS testing is conducted in production.  However, we do not want firm messages to be sent to the RDC mainframe in error.  Therefore, testing will only take place on Tues-Fri mornings at 6:00 -7:30am (CDT) and from 8:00 -11:00 am (CDT) on the remaining Saturdays:  July 12th, July 19th and July 26th.  (Please note the addition of July 19th, since our last memo).   Lastly, CME staff will send a test print report to your print queue or server from our RDC mainframe.  Firms must schedule their testing times for this third component of our 4 component testing process by July 18th.

 

Please make sure there are NO production messages in your outbound (TRADIN) queues before you begin your test.  If messages are sent to the RDC, they cannot be retrieved by the CME and moved to the Chicago MQM queues.  However, the firm can certainly resend these messages, once they have changed their IP addresses back to the production/Chicago site.
